- Beveling might happen before the weld—but it makes all the difference after. By angling the edges of metal to create a V-shaped groove, beveling sets the stage for stronger, more reliable welds—especially on thicker materials.
Why it matters?
Deeper weld penetration = better fusion = stronger joints.
Skip the prep, risk the result. Get the edge right, and the weld follows. - A customer manufacturing cylinders and gas water heaters in multiple diameters and lengths was facing the classic challenge: maintaining consistent longitudinal seam quality across changing sizes, while keeping rework under control.
Their solution? A BUG-O Systems GO-FER® IV integrated into a seam welder structure for longitudinal welding.
By combining the GO-FER IV’s precise, stable travel with a dedicated seam welding fixture, they achieved:
Significantly improved weld bead consistency
Cleaner, more repeatable longitudinal seams
Rework reduced to an absolute minimum
Better process stability across different product sizes
This is a great example of what BUG-O is built for: real-world versatility. Whether you’re adapting equipment into a custom workstation or upgrading an existing setup, BUG-O systems help manufacturers turn welding into a controlled, repeatable process — not a daily gamble.
Want to see what a GO-FER IV + seam welder configuration could look like for your production line?
Message us — we’ll help you map the right solution for your parts, speeds, and quality targets.
